Why Choose Busy Bee Learning Center

While Busy Bee Learning Center has many reasons why it is unique and highly qualified to care for a family's most precious member, below are more specific reasons why a parent might choose BBLC as their child's "home away from home".  It is important that parents visit all options of child care before making such an important decision.

Low Adult to Child Ratio:

Busy Bee Learning Center has two licensed adults caring for children!  Two adults help to keep our adult to child ratio low at 1:4 (full time children) and 1:6 (including before and after school children).  This allows more one-on-one time to help the individual child learn and become engaged in the activities at BBLC.

BBLC Only Accepts Ages 12 months and up

Since Busy Bee Learning Center only accepts children ages 12 mo and up, the main priority is for them to prepare for kindergarten through play based activities!  All children are encouraged to participate with their peers in the learning process, gaining positive social and emotional support and increasing self-esteem! All the children enrolled in BBLC have the opportunity to become life-long friends!

Provider has a Masters in Education

Larissa has a M.S. E.d. in Special education.  This helps with creating fun and engaging curriculum that aligns with the Illinois State Standards in education to help your child prepare for kindergarten.  She also has experience benchmarking children behavior and development through many types of testing methods.

Use of a Combined Reggio Emilia and Montessori Method of Teaching and Learning

While we use a curriculum for our short group learning and community building time, the rest of your child's day will be child led and centered around open-ended play and loose parts.  Most of these activities use all five senses social-emotional skills and are outside at least 40% of the day.
